Meet the BBi Ireland team
Anthony Forde,
Director
Anthony graduated out of Athlone IT with a B.A in Accountancy and Finance in 1994. He then started a 9 year career with Quinn insurance where he became the Senior Sales Manager for the UK market in commercial non motor business.
In November 2011, he set up his own insurance brokerage with Berns Brett, specialising in placement of commercial business insurance across Ireland. Jensten acquired the business in October 2023. Anthony’s’ primary focus is providing a quality service to clients, especially in times of need, such as COVID-19 and weather-related incidents.
Dessie Smith,
Director
Dessie started his career as Senior Client Executive with Quinn Insurance, managing the largest clients both in NI, ROI and UK for the business. He spent 16 years in this role.
Alongside fellow Director, Anthony Forde, he set up an insurance brokerage with Berns Brett, in 2011. Dessie specialises in client relationships and negotiating the best possible terms and widest covers with insurers.
Martin Brady,
Account Executive
In 2015, Martin qualified from IT Sligo with a Business and Finance degree, which then led him to start as an Assistant Underwriter with Ecclesiastical insurance Ireland. In October 2016, he completed his CIP to become an underwriter. After 3 years with Ecclesiastical, Martin moved to Australia, where he worked as an Assistant Underwriter with Zurich on the Motor Fleet team.
A couple of years later, he joined BBi Ireland as an Account Executive. Martin strives to provide a professional service, with the best cover options at the best possible price.
Catherine Argue,
Account Executive
Catherine’s career in insurance started back in 2004 working as a Motor and Household agent. In 2006, she moved into commercial insurance as an underwriter and continued in this area for 7 years. In 2013, she moved into insurance broking in Dublin and worked as a Corporate Account Executive.
In 2015, Catherine joined BBi Ireland as an Account Executive, where her focus and expertise covers all areas of commercial business, Marine and Self -Storage. Catherine aims to meet client expectations, provide options and solutions for their insurance needs, and maintain excellent service and communication.
Breda Smith,
Office Manager/Account Executive
Breda’s Insurance career started in 1990 when she started working with J.J. Flood & Sons Insurance Brokers/Permanent TSB plc. She worked with the same Broker for over 20 years until joining the BBi Ireland Team in 2012.
Breda aims to build a long-term relationship and offer good customer service to clients so that they can trust, respect, and communicate with us and know that they’ll be offered the best insurance quote and product suited to their needs.
Annmarie Brady, Administrator
Annmarie joined the BBi Ireland team 6 years ago after completing a 2 year business course. Day-to-day Annmarie supports the company Directors and is responsible for clients’ insurance renewals.
Annmarie aims to support clients when processing their renewals and payments by making herself available for any problems or issues that need to be resolved.
